SHABBY CHIC FABRIC JOURNAL

I Love to alter Journals and they make great gifts for Family and Friends, my little sister and nieces as well as my daughter Love to play with them, and it is so much fun to see them as they write and stick little notes of wonderful memories. I used Beautiful trims from Suhafuha's esty ( I will provide the link below so that you can go and visit her) and used fabric tack to adhere them to the cover. Saba has the most Unique and Wonderful trims, not to mention the prices for them are just as great :) I want to share with you all some pictures of the journal and talk to you a little bit of how I altered the journal, Hope you enjoy it :)

THE BACK OF THE JOURNAL

Here is the Back of the Journal, I outlined the cover of the journal with calico cream fabric and started to layer all the doilies and trims to the cover I had so much fun and went to town with all the Beautiful trims.

THE BOTTOM LEFT OF THE FRONT OF THE JOURNAL

I also layered tons of Beautiful trims here from Suhafuha and then I added the Beautiful soft pink rossette trim and added to the center some flat back heart shaped pearls. The little pink and green peeks you see there are peices of a trim that I cut out just to add color and interest to the journal.

BOTTOM LEFT CORNER

Here you can see a better view of the trims , I just Love them so much, so Beautiful!! those flower sprays I found at Hobby Lobby and they are perfect to fill in spaces.

A Small Gift To A Great Friend

I have been wanting to alter one of this drawers for a little while and yesterday I went to see what I could find at Hobby Lobby, I saw this wooden drawer and decided to go for it ! I thought it would be a great gift for a such sweet friend of mine :)

Here is one of the sides of the drawer,I painted the edges of the drawer with white gesso since I knew that the paper was going to cover most of the wood. The paper collection I used is the Lyric Collection from Prima, it is such a BEAUTIFUL paper collection and I had so much fun playing with it. I used modge podge to adhere the paper and for texture
used snow tex, I also distressed the edges with my prima tool to add more texture to the edges, with a sponge I dabbed gesso to the edges and some of the areas in the corners and just ramdom places, I also fussy cute some of the images from the paper collection and adhere them to the box,I think gesso gives a very Shabby Chic effect to this project :) in my Humble opinion.

For the top of the drawer I had this teacup set that I found at my local thrift store and with a sponge I dabbed gesso a couple of times and heat dried it to speed up the process while it was not completely dry I used my fingers to dab some snow tex in ramdom places and heat set it. I adhered the cup  to the plate with E6000 and hot glue, the hot glue will keep it in place while the E6000 dries. I added spanish moss and flowers to embellish the top as well as some items I fussy cut from the paper collection.

Here is how the other side of the drawer looks, I used pink satin ribbon  and threaded it to the side of the box and I have seen some talented do this and I just love the look it gives to the box, so thank you so much to all the wonderful Ladies like MsLiberty25 among many who inspire me! I also added some trim from my stash to soften and add a wonderful Shabby Chic feel to it .I love using spanish moss and I thought it would be perfect for this side of the drawer along with the Beautiful bird cage, in the inside of the cage I cut an image from the paper collection and adhered it to the cage with modge podge, It looks wonderful!! I do hope you guys have enjoyed this project, I had so much fun working on it and I know my friends will love it :)
Thank you for stopping by :)
